Almost every story that you probably heard growing up ending with the words “and they lived happily ever after. The end.” While it is a satisfying ending, what does happily ever after mean? It seems that Disney is taking a comedic look at that particular question with Reese Witherspoon being the princess who got her happy ending. The main idea of the show is “The idea is to catch up with a prince and princess about 10 years after they have ridden off into the sunset for their “happily ever after.” The couple discovers that even in fairy-tale land, you have to work to keep your relationship and your life together.”
There have been time when writers have tried to explore the idea of what happens after the story. In “Into The Woods” the princes turn out to be not so charming, or be all flash and no substance. In the sequel to Ella Enchanted (yes there is a sequel, check it out) Ella is now a princess, but finds out that the prince is kind of boring. We won’t spoil the ending for you, but it may not be what you expect.
This begs the question: do we really want to know what happens afterwards? Well, if Disney’s new show is any indication, it seems the answer is yes. We can’t wait to see what this new show will look like and how great Reese Witherspoon will be in it. She can deliver a good romantic comedy.
